The faculty and staff dancers are “Born To Be Wild.”

At the end of the spring dance concert was a surprise performance by some of the teachers and staff of AHC. The entertaining dance was performed by over 20 of the faculty and staff.

Dance teacher Donna Reese explained, ”I wanted to do this for over 16 years. I finally had a couple teachers agree with me to do it when I told one of them about the idea. Then another teacher started talking about it, then another and at the end all the teachers were talking about it and everyone wanted to do it.”

The dance included music from two songs, “Born To Be Wild,” picked by a student, and “Yeah!” by Usher. Reese explained, “I came up with the idea for the dances by having teachers discuss with me and give me ideas for each dance.”

The outfits the performers picked out to wear were hip hop or biker outfits and the colors were black, red, and white.

The teachers were excited to perform and had fun dancing in front of everyone.

Math teacher Rene Pulupa enjoyed participating. “I had a great time being with other teachers. It was great seeing the students, and my seeing wife there.”

Kate Griffith was also part of the teacher dance group. Griffith explained, “I enjoyed the dances, and I encouraged Miss Donna.”

The dance they performed was about five minutes and the teachers rehearsed for about a month and a half, every Friday after school. They spent 45 minutes to get each dance right and rehearsed at home because not every teacher could come to practice.

As part of the dance several teachers performed solo dances, Griffith says she and some other teachers did a ballet section.

In the end some of the teachers did do some cool stunts, one teacher every performed a hand stand.
