Homework Troubles

For many LOTAs the weekend is time to get a head start on homework and to study for upcoming tests. For some the weekend can be stressful due to weekend can be stressful due to weekend activities that can take up valuable time for homework and studying.

LOTAs participate in all types of activities during the weekend such as athletics, preforming arts, and service, as well as family commitments. While balancing time between homework and studying takes a lot of work sometimes the practical aspect can really be a problem. Studying in the car on the way to an event may get the job done, but the distractions may take away form the material you are trying to learn.

Sophomore Kendal Tippins is accomplished in equestrian and explained, “The hardest part is balancing schoolwork and activities.”  Many students like Kendal struggle with the prospects of fitting in sleep, “I don’t want to stay up too late, but I don’t want to have to get up too early.”

Sophomore Natalia Giacchino, a member of crew shared, “I just do all my work on Sunday.” Students find that homework can be a balancing act on the weekend with activities, but if they plan out the weekend it can make it a little less stressful.

Sophomore Sophia Costa a member of the swim team stated, “I try to get most of my work done on Friday.” Completing work early is the key to a stress-free weekend.
