Super Special Sunday

The best type of morning is one that involves getting dressed up on Sunday going to church, then coming back and getting to eat with friends and moms.

Holy Cross hosts different events that both students and parents attend. The first of these events this year was the Mother-Daughter breakfast.

The first breakfast was held on April 9,1978, at that time Holy Cross had named the breakfast, Parent-Daughter Communion Breakfast. They changed the name because of the Father-Daughter Dnce they added.

There was mass at the beginning of breakfast, which was held in the theater. As a tradition of Holy Cross, the seniors, with their moms, gets a candle and puts it on the stage.

Dominique Rickerby was one of many mothers who attended. Rickerby is the mother of Chloe Rickerby, who is currently a sophomore. Rickerby loved to catch up with the mothers of Chloe’s friends, “I always love seeing Chloe’s friends and parents. The school does a beautiful job and I especially love the dads from the Father Club serving the Mothers and Daughters in their purple.” She enjoys every moment she can have with Chloe and her friends. She attended last year and added, “More of Chloe’s friends and parents were there this year then last year. Rickerby also loved to catch up with the other parents, “With all our crazy schedules it was nice to sit have breakfast and catch up.”

Chloe Rickerby had close to the same perspective of the breakfast as her mom. She enjoyed the food with the dads serving, “Two different types of frittatas, variety of fruit, yogurt, waffles, and bacon.” She had more friends come to this year’s breakfast than last year. Rickerby mentioned that she enjoyed both years she attended.

The times spent with mother and daughters are special times to cherish. So many parents are thankful that Holy Cross invites the parents to activities with their daughters.
