Glamour Gals was brought into the AHC community by a LOTA in the class of 2017. The Gals bring a little bit of glamour to residents of nursing homes.

Meredith Gobbi, the moderator, shared, “Glamour Gals is special to Holy Cross because it is purely a service club and allows girls to interact with women of a different age group.”

Glamour Gals is a nationwide organization that encourages young students to connect with senior citizens, “connecting generations one manicure at a time.” The AHC chapter organizes services for the residents, providing them with manicures.

Gobbi spends most of her time with young girls in a school setting but she enjoys seeing them in a different way and having different conversations about past experiences and creating a bond with the women in the nursing homes.

The ladies at the nursing home are excited to get their nails painted so they could feel pretty, and the LOTAs leave their club outings feeling happy and helpful.

Freshman Erin McLaughlin has never been in a service club, but she pointed out, “I didn’t know that something so small like painting nails could make someone’s day great.”
